Great artists became great because at some point in their lives they abandoned ambivalence in their work in favor of ambition. They found a goal worth focusing on and advanced towards it, even if slower than their peers. People perform best in their hobbies, crafts and passions when they create goals for themselves and stick to them. It’s okay to add new goals or expand on existing ones, but don’t move the goal posts around or you’ll be chasing images.
So for everyone out there, regardless of skill you want to hone, remember that your peers reached where they are because they stuck to something and committed to goals.
