why is stabbing a werewolf with silver considered a weakness when even normal ass humans will fuckin die from being stabbed by anything

In areas where werewolves would be feared as monsters and embodiments of corruption or darkness, a normal weapon would be inadequate to the task of defending oneself. Only something made of silver would have the purity to overcome the corruption sustaining the monster and truly kill it.
