Muu and Mimi are my dual-fursonasl. Muu is my much burlier side and me most of the time, whereas Mimi is my more feminine side! Although generally speaking, I respond to any of my characters names. I only use the name Zeny for arbitrary convenience, but Zeny is actually a character of his own these days and not really a fursona.
I decided I wanted to keep this dog lady as an alt fursona to contrast Muu, who represents my much more burly side. I decided to name her Mimi!
I make a lot of fursona jokes, but despite that, I always keep in mind that fursonas are an effective and accessible way of exploring one’s self. It can be said for any avatar character, but when you have animals (or monsters, or really any non-human species) it adds a layer that really helps people project themselves into it. I’ve met a lot of people who have explored body shapes, gender identities, etc using fursonas and I find that really positive!
I like it when people tag my art with “me” or similarly because it makes me feel as if I succeeded in making something people can relate to. Similarly, it makes me feel really good when people reblog one of my drawings and say “What a cutie!” and its clear to me they see themselves in the character. It’s a nice feeling all around!
